ChatGPT Ads is expanding to 26 more countries, even as scrutiny of how ads are shown is growing alongside it.
On October 21, OpenAI said ChatGPT Ads is expanding to 26 new countries and that over 100,000 advertisers have used the platform. It also published how it built the ad stack for user trust and relevance. A day earlier, a franchisee case study reported cash reconciliation in 94% less time with ChatGPT Work.
The expansion points to ChatGPT's ad business going international. At the same time, ITmedia covered a US university study using 91 decoy accounts to examine ad targeting, and a test of data theft across seven AI browsers, so trust concerns are rising in parallel. Whether those reports influenced the rollout is not confirmed.
